Wayman Wolfe to Rachel Goodman

Know all men by these presents, That we John Goodman and Wayman Wolf are held and firmly bound unto John Rutherford Esquire, Governor or Chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to be paid to the said Governor for the time being and his successors, for the use of the Commonwealth; for the payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, this 22 day of June 1841.

The condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound Wayman Wolf and Rachael Goodman of the county of Smyth now, if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then this obligation is to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Christian Falkie to Elizabeth Wolfe

Know all men by these presents, That we Christian Falke and Michael Wolf of Smyth County, are held and firmly bound unto Wyndham Robertson Lieutenant Governor there being no Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars: to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Lieutenant Governor, and his successors in office, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, this 7th day of September 1836

The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended between the said Christian Falke and Elizabeth Wolf daughter of said Michael Wolf

Now, if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

James Johnson to Amanda Wolfe

Know all men by these presents, that we James Johnson and Michael Wolfe Are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid to the said Commonwealth; to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, &c, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 11th day of November 1844.

The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the above bound James Johnson hath this day obtained from the Clerk of the County Court of Smyth, a licence for his intermarriage with Amanda Wolfe of this County: Now, if there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.

David Wolf to Apelina Wolf

Know all men by these presents, that we David Wolf and Michael Wolf are held and firmly bound unto Thomas W. Gilmer Esquire, Governor or Chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to be paid to the said Governor for the time being and his successors, for the use of the Commonwealth; for the payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, this 5th day of May 1840

The condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound David Wolf and Apilena Wolf of the County of Smyth now, if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then this obligation is to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Know all men by these presents, That we Abram Kinder & Daniel Wolf of Smyth County, are held and firmly bound unto David Campbell Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars: to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Governor, and his successors in office, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, this 12th day of July 1838

The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended between the said Abram Kinder and Rosannah Wolf daughter of Michael Wolf of Smyth County

Now, if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Dixon Hutton to Elizabeth Wolf

Know all men by these presents, That we Dixon Hutton and Roland Wolf of Smyth County are held and firmly bound unto Wyndham Robertson Lieutenant Governor there being no Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars: to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Governor, and his successors in the office of Governor, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, this 9th day of January 1837

The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended between the said Dixon Hutton and Elizabeth Wolf, reputed daughter of the said Roland Wolf

Now , if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Know all men by these presents, That we Samuel Robinson and Martin Wolfe are held and firmly bound James McDowell Esquire, Governor or Chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to be paid to the said Governor for the time being and his successors, for the use of the Commonwealth; for the payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, this third day of April 1843

The condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound Samuel Robinson and Mahala Wolfe of the County of Smyth now, if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then this obligation is to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Edward Hutton to Elizabeth Wolfe

Know all men by these presents, that we Edward Hutton and Leonard Hutton are held and firmly bound unto John Floyd Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars; to be paid to the said Governor for the time being, and his successors in office; to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs &c. jointly and severally, firmly by the presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 17th day of October 1833

The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the above bound Edward Hutton hath this day obtained from the Clerk of the County Court of Smyth a License for his marriage with Elizabeth Wolf Daughter of Martin Wolf of said County. If, therefore, there be no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage, then the above obligation to be void.
