13) Millie Welch, born January 1840. She married Granville Widby, son of John L. and Rebecca Widby. Granville was born October 1841. The following deed was recorded in Lee Co., VA:


This indenture made this the forth day of December one thousand eight hundred and ninty between Granville L. Widby and wife Milla Widby of the County Grainger and State of Tennessee of the first and Steven B. Welch of the second part of the County of Hancock and State aforesaid witnesseth that the said Steven B. Welch for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen dollars in hand paid and fifteen dollars to be paid in three year from this date the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien in fee of and confirm unto the said Steven B. Welch his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parsel of land by estimation eight acres more or less lying in Lee County, and State of Virginia and on the warter of Powels River bounded as follows Beginning at on a postoak on or near the state line between Virginia and Tennessee thence northwardly with a conditional line made between Tanda Welch and Robson to Powels River thence southwardly with the river to the state line thence west with the state line to the beginning. And we Granville L. Widby and wife Milla Widby this day sell and confirm our one share of said undivided tract of land which Tandy Welch died seased of and a corden to his will we are lawfully seased of and have a good right to convey and the same therefore we will warrant and foreveer defend the tital to Steven B. Welch his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claim or demand of every other person whatsoever in witness whereof we hereunto set our hands and seals first above mentioned. Signed sealed in the presents of us.

Mary R. Widby, born July 20, 1861 and died February 25, 1924 in Grainger Co., TN. She is buried at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Grainger Co., TN. She married H.W. Sikes.

B)

Martha Widby, born about 1866.

C)

Susan E. Widby, born May 1869. She married (?) McLaughlin. Susan and her children were enumerated with her father in the 1910 Grainger Co., TN census. She was listed as a widow.

D)

Isaac T. Widby, born October 1871. He married Tilda S. (?). It is recalled that an "Ike and Pete Woodby from down in Tennessee" used to visit with Ora Johnson, grandson of Mahala (Welch) Trent, and claimed to be cousins. The name Widby is spelled in various ways, including "Woodby" and "Woodsby."
