Red Trillium
Latin name: Trillium Erectum
Member of the Lily family (Liliaceae)

Also known as Purple Trillium or Wakerobin. The leaves, sepals, and petals are in 3's. The ill-scented red flower is on a short stalk. It is occasionally pink, salmon, greenish, white, etc. (see photo below). It grows to a height of 7 to 16 inches. It is found in rich woods. It blooms between April and June.
